MINNEAPOLIS --
JJ Semanko (FY, New Hope, Minn./Hopkins HS) claimed his first collegiate double-double, scoring 20 points with 10 rebounds, as his Augsburg University men's basketball team opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a dominating 82-60 victory over the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg used a 23-9 run over a 10:08 span in the first half, including a stretch of 13 straight points, to take a 36-17 advantage with 4:43 left in the first half. Augsburg shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the field in the first half to take a 48-23 halftime advantage, eventually stretching the lead to as many as 36 points in the second half.
• Semanko hit 6-of-7 from the field, and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line, for his 20-point effort, his sixth-straight double-digit scoring effort to start his college career. He also had three blocked shots and two assists.

Elias Batala (JR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) scored 14 points, connecting on 5-of-7 from the field, with four steals, two assists and a blocked shot.

Daveion Hart (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Hopkins HS) scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field, hitting three 3-pointers.
• All 17 Auggies who dressed saw game action, with 11 scoring.
Isaac Rabaey (SR, Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS) scored six points with five rebounds, and
Keenan Rodriguez (SR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS),
Julien Hussherr (SR, Strasbourg, Alsace, France/Episcopal Saint Etienne HS) and
David Perkins (SO, Oakdale, Minn./Tartan HS) scored five points each.
• Augsburg had a strong shooting night, hitting a season-best 51.7 percent (30-of-58) from the field, 10-of-25 (40.0 percent) from three-point range and 12-of-14 (85.7 percent) from the free-throw line.
FOR THE FOES
• Tanner Thompson scored 17 points with six rebounds to lead St. Scholastica.
• Davion Butler and Koy Nelson scored nine points each, with Butler adding six rebounds and two steals, and Nelson adding four assists and three steals.
