STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Kelsey Cruz Rojas (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS) claimed her first collegiate women's wrestling title, winning the 145-pound weight class for the Augsburg University women's wrestling team at the Buena Vista University Open on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Cruz Rojas scored a pair of technical fall victories -- a 10-0, 6:00 win over Annabel Blanchard of Wartburg (Iowa) and an 11-0, 4:36 win over Emily Angelo of Iowa Central Community College -- to win the title at 145 pounds, improving to 10-6 on the season with six technical falls and one pin.
• Paige Haaf (SO, St. Croix Falls, Wis./St. Croix Falls HS) went 4-1, with two pins and a technical fall, to finish in fifth place at 131 pounds, moving to 10-8 on the season with six pins and a technical fall.
• Gisele Gallegos (SO, South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) went 3-1, with two pins, to tie for seventh place at 117 pounds, improving to 12-6 on the season with six pins and five technical falls.
• Chelsea Beaver (FY, Maple Grove, Minn./Zimmerman HS) finished in sixth place at 103.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg is now idle for the holiday break, and returns to action on Jan. 17 at 9 a.m., at the Cornell College Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
