MINNEAPOLIS -- Jake Hale (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Apex Virtual School) scored in the third period for Augsburg University in the Auggies' 4-1 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey loss to Saint John's University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Trailing 2-0, Hale scored his first goal of the season at the 5:24 mark of the third period, scoring on a wrist shot from the top of the circle off a faceoff win by Blaine Warnert (SR, Chaska, Minn./Chaska HS).
• The game marked the second collegiate start in goal for Augsburg's Josh Koziol (JR, Elk River, Minn./Elk River HS), who came up with 38 saves on the evening. 
• Saint John's outshot Augsburg by a 42-38 margin. Landon Parker (SO, East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks HS) had seven shots on-goal, while Daniel Chladek (SR, Anaheim, Calif./Canyon HS) had four shots.
• Jake Osiecki (SR, Verona, Wis./Verona HS) had three blocked shots in the game.

FOR THE FOES
• Jacob McPartland, Parker Gnos, Spencer Rudrud and Sam Berry scored goals for Saint John's.
• Bailey Huber had 37 saves for the Johnnies.
