COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's basketball team fell victim to a hot-shooting Saint John's University squad in a 110-63 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference decision on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Johnnies, ranked No. 12 in the latest D3hoops.com Division III national poll, connected on 68.3 percent (43-of-63) from the field, compared to 36.4 percent (20-of-55) for the Auggies. Saint John's outrebounded Augsburg by a 38-20 margin and held a 60-24 advantage in points in the paint.
• Andy Stafford (SR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) was the lone Auggie to score in double figures, scoring 16 points.
• Elias Batala (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) scored eight points with three assists.
• Ali Axmed (SO, Lakeville, Minn./North HS) scored seven points with a steal and blocked shot. Myles Adams (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eastview HS) scored  six pionts with two rebounds.

FOR THE FOES
• Ryan Thissen scored 21 points with six assists and five rebounds to lead Saint John's.
• Blake Berg scored 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting from the field, adding five assists.
