NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Outscored by a 40-26 margin in the second half, the Augsburg University men's basketball team's 2024-25 season came to an end with a 73-57 loss at Carleton College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference playoff quarterfinal game on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg rallied from an early 11-point deficit, and used an 11-0 run to take a 28-27 lead with 5:16 left in the first half. Carleton led 33-31 at halftime. But a 13-2 run over a 3:52 span gave the Knights a 55-45 lead with 8:20 left, an advantage that the Auggies couldn't recover.
• Carleton connected on 49.2 percent (29-of-59) shooting in the game, compared to 36.4 percent (20-of-55) for the Auggies. Carleton outrebounded Augsburg by a 38-30 margin in the game, and had 46 points in the paint, compared to 24 for Augsburg.
• Playing in his final collegiate game, Will Blascziek (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) led the way for the Auggies, scoring 14 points with five rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.
• Elias Batala (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) also scored 14 points, adding three steals and two rebounds.
• Andy Stafford (SR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) scored 10 points wiht two rebounds and two blocked shots.
• Trent Gomez (SO, Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors HS) scored seven points with four rebonds and two assists.
FOR THE FOES
• Sam Koelling scored 19 points with nine rebounds to lead Carleton.
• Matt Drake and Luke Harris scored 14 points each.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Three Augsburg seniors completed their collegiate careers on Tuesday -- Blascziek, Stafford and Noah Loehr (SR, Inver Grove Hieghts, Minn./Rosemount HS).
