Auggie lacrosse falls 14-7 at UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Veronica Lopez Nash (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) scored three goals for the Augsburg University women's lacrosse team in its 14-7 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss at the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• UW-Stout outshot Augsburg by a 51-24 margin en route to the victory. Goalie Nicole Schuster (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had a career-high 22 saves for the Auggies, adding 10 ground balls, one shy of her career best. She also had a career-best three caused turnovers.
• Lopez Nash had her second straight multi-goal game, scoring three goals with two draw controls.
• The game was a close one early, tied 3-3 after one quarter. The Blue Devils outscored the Auggies 3-1 to take a 6-4 halftime advantage, then outscored the Auggies 8-3 in the second half to pull away for the win. UW-Stout had 34 ground balls to Augsburg's 27, and claimed 18 draw controls to the Auggies' six.
Leila Klym (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) scored a goal and added an assist, to go along with three ground balls and three draw controls.
Jessica Paul (JR, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) scored a goal with two draw controls and a ground ball.
Ashley Kong (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) scored a goal with a ground ball and caused turnover.
Isabella Kohout (JR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) scored a goal with a caused turnover.
Eleanor Flynn (JR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• Mai Nou Vang scored six goals with nine draw controls and five ground balls to lead UW-Stout.
• Abigail Todey scored three goals with two ground balls.
