EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team opened play in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 27-2 loss at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Blugolds scored the first 16 goals of the game in a 24:36 span before Veronica Lopez Nash (SR, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo HS) scored Augsburg's first goal. Ashley Kong (SR, Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) scored in the second half for the Auggies.
• UW-Eau Claire outshot Augsburg by a 57-5 margin, with a 31-4 advantage in shots on-goal. The Blugolds had a 27-5 advantage in draw controls.
• Lopez Nash had two draw controls in addition to her goal, and Kong also added a draw control.
• Isabella Kohout (JR, Sauk Rapids, Minn./Sauk Rapids-Rice HS) assisted on Kong's goal and added a draw control. Eleanor Flynn (SO, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS) had two ground balls.
• Emma Meythaler (SR, Golden Valley, Minn./Hopkins HS) had 11 saves in goal, along with one ground ball.

FOR THE FOES
• Ellie Fisher scored six goals with two assists to lead UW-Eau Claire.
• Paige Kiani scored three goals with two assists, adding seven draw controls and a ground ball.
