Auggie men fall 5-4 to UW-Stevens Point

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University men's hockey team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 5-4 in a nonconference game on Saturday evening. The Auggies converted two power-play goals, but conceded three goals in the final period.

GAME RECAP
The first period opened with UW-Stevens Point taking an early lead at 3:29, as Gino Colangelo scored unassisted, putting the visitors on the board. Augsburg responded swiftly, with Nolan Nenow leveling the score at 8:40, also unassisted. Later in the period, Augsburg capitalized on a power play opportunity, with Hanson netting a goal at 18:05, assisted by Nenow and Conner Schneider, giving the home team a 2-1 lead heading into intermission. Both teams had opportunities, but effective goaltending from Carsen Stokes and Ryan Maguire kept the score tight.

Augsburg faced a challenging second period, marked by persistent offensive pressure from UW-Stevens Point.
