SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Both teams won five bouts in the dual, but a pair of major-decision upset victories by Augustana University (S.D.) gave the hosts a 17-15 victory over Augsburg University on Friday afternoon, snapping the Auggies' 25-match dual-meet winning streak in the process.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg, ranked No. 2 in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III tournament and dual-meet national polls, led 9-6 after the first five bouts to Augustana, the defending NCAA Division II national runner-up and current No. 13-ranked team in the NWCA's Division II national rankings. The Vikings won three of the last five bouts, with two major decisions, to claim the victory.
• One of the highlights of the match for the Auggies came at 157 pounds, as
Cole Dummer (FY, Union Grove, Wis./Union Grove HS), making his first collegiate varsity dual-meet start, used a first-period takedown, two stalling points and 2:21 of riding time to claim a 7-4 victory over Augustana's Cael Larson, the defending NCAA Division II 149-pound national champion and current No. 9-ranked Division II wrestler at 157. Dummer is now 16-2 on the season.
• Four Auggie ranked wrestlers claimed victories in Friday's dual. At 133, No. 13-ranked
Chance Suddeth (JR, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS) scored a second-period escape and a takedown late in the third period to improve to 13-6 with a 4-0 win over Braiden Kort.
• At 141, No. 10-rankedÂ
Cole Becker (SR, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) scored a takedown 59 seconds into the sudden-victory overtime period, scoring a 4-1 win over Luke Koenen. Becker is now 16-3 on the year.
• No. 4-ranked 184-pounder
Brandt Bombard (SR, North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) improved to 17-1 on the season with his 13th straight victory, scoring a second-period escape and riding out Charlie Petit for the entire third period in a 2-0 win.
• No. 5-ranked 285-pounder
Tyler Raway (SR, Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake HS) claimed a 6-5 victory over Jaret Peterson, rallying from a 3-2 third-period deficit with an escape and takedown, improving to 16-2 on the season with his 12th straight win.

• Two Auggie ranked wrestlers suffered upset losses in the only meetings of ranked wrestlers. No. 3-ranked 149-pounderÂ
Matthew Randolph (SO, Jordan, Minn./Jordan HS (Scott West)) suffered an 11-5 loss to Augustana's Nolan Ambrose, ranked No. 8 in Division II. At 197, No. 8-ranked Auggie
Ethan Winkelman (SO, Hudson, Wis./Hudson HS) suffered a 12-2, major-decision loss to Max Ramberg, a two-time All-American ranked No. 2 in Division II.

Cooper Willis (SR, Kansasville, Wis./Union Grove HS) surrendered a takedown with 27 seconds left in the third period, suffering a 6-4 defeat to Payton Handevidt.
• Christian Olsen scored an 8-5 win over
Keno Vanier (SR, Edina, Minn./Richfield HS) at 125, and No. 10-ranked 174-pounder Coy Gunderson scored a 10-2 major decision of
Nick Alexander (JR, Kaukauna, Wis./Wrightstown HS).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Augsburg had its 25-match dual-meet winning streak, dating to the 2023-24 season, snapped with the loss to the Vikings. Since the 2022-23 season, the Auggies are now 39-3 in dual meets. Augsburg is now 11-4 in the all-time series with Augustana, dating to the 1999-2000 season. The Vikings snapped the Auggies' four-match winning streak in the series.
• Against opponents from Divisions II and III, Augsburg is now 391-59-1 in dual meets since the 1989-90 season. Augsburg has lost just 55 matches to non-Division I opponents since the 1995-96 season.
