GAME RECAP
The first period began with Augsburg's Alex Timmons making an early save against Hamline's Will Matzke, setting the tone in goal. Timmons recorded a total of 26 saves in the game, marking his seventh game with 25 or more saves in his 11 games in goal this season. Despite several faceoff wins by Nick Catalano and multiple shot attempts by Kyler Kleven and others, Augsburg was unable to find the back of the net. Calvin Knight's penalty for Hamline provided Augsburg a power-play opportunity, but the team was unable to capitalize. The period ended in a scoreless draw, with both goalies, Timmons and Cade Chapman, keeping the nets secure.

Augsburg faced a challenging second period as Hamline took advantage of a power play early on. Grant Dardis was penalized for tripping just 26 seconds into the period, leading to a power play for Hamline. Jack Lambert capitalized with a power-play goal at 18:19, assisted by Brock Carls and Tristen May-Robinson, putting Hamline ahead 1-0. Despite multiple attempts on goal from players like Zachary Reim and Griffin Ayotte, Augsburg was unable to find the back of the net. Late in the period, Augsburg gained a power play opportunity due to a Hamline penalty for too many players on the ice, but they could not convert. The second period concluded with Hamline maintaining a 1-0 lead.

Augsburg faced a challenging third period, unable to capitalize on multiple scoring opportunities. Despite several shots from players including Kyler Kleven, Nolan Nenow, and Conner Schneider, Hamline's goaltender Cade Chapman consistently denied their attempts. Near the end of the period, Augsburg pulled their goalie for an extra attacker, but Hamline secured an empty-net goal at 18:30 from AJ Carls, assisted by Brock Carls. Augsburg then gained a late power play with 12 seconds remaining but could not find the back of the net.
