Augsburg dominates in win over Lawrence

MINNEAPOLIS -- Outshooting the opponents by a 72-6 margin, the No. 3/3-ranked Augsburg University women's hockey team dominated Lawrence University on Sunday afternoon, claiming a 6-1 nonconference victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies had the first 24 shots on-goal in the game, not allowing a Lawrence shot on-goal until the final 10 seconds of the first period. Augsburg's 72 shots were its most in a game since collecting 79 shots in a 7-0 win at Northland (Wis.) on Jan. 13, 2025, and its six shots allowed were the fewest in a single game since Marian (Wis.) had six shots in a 10-0 Auggie road win on Jan. 4, 2020.
Kate Haug (SR, Roseville, Minn./Roseville HS) led the Auggies with a three-point night, scoring a pair of goals with an assist.
Adelyn Milota (SO, Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton HS) scored a goal with an assist, as did Emma Abrahamson (JR, Carpentersville, Ill./Hampshire HS) and Aunna Schulte (SO, Bolingbrook, Ill./Plainfield East HS).
• Nora Stepan (SR, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) also scored for the Auggies, giving her six goals on the year, tying Schulte for the team lead.
Mei Diesing (SO, Arlington Heights, Ill./TPH Academy Chicago) and Ruby Eskin (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Roseville HS) had two assists each, with Annika Mielke (SO, Waconia, Minn./Waconia HS) and Kelsi Reis (SO, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) adding assists.
• Making her second career start and fourth appearance in goal, Lauren Lafferty (FY, Ramsey, Minn./Anoka HS) had five saves.

FOR THE FOES
• Sarah Dobrzynski had 66 saves in goal for Lawrence.
• The Vikings scored at the 2:50 mark of the third period, with Kate Boberg scoring from Leina Quiniou.
