MINNEAPOLIS -- For the second straight game,
Jada Stanford (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) had season-highs of scoring and rebounding, but her Augsburg University women's basketball team fell short of St. Catherine University, in an 81-70 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The teams kept the game close through most of the first half, but a 15-1 run gave the Wildcats a 12-point lead in the final minute of the first half, and St. Catherine led 39-31 at halftime. The Wildcat lead did not dip below four points the rest of the way, eventually leading by as many as 14 points.
• Stanford scored a season-high 18 points and tied a season-high with nine rebounds, hitting 8-of-11 from the field.

Tyliah Frazier (FY, Fridley, Minn./Fridley HS) tied a season-best with 12 points, adding season-highs of six assists and four steals.

Melanie Delestrez (SR, Lake Stevens, Wash./Lake Stevens HS) and
Saylor Gallagher (JR, Mounds View, Minn./Irondale HS) scored 10 points each, with Gallagher adding six rebounds, five assists and two steals, and Delestrez adding six rebounds.

Sydney Hazuga (JR, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial HS) scored nine points with three rebounds
• St. Catherine hit 53.8 percent (28-of-52) from the field, compared to 41.3 percent (26-of-63) for the Auggies.
FOR THE FOES
• Hattie Fox scored 23 points with five rebounds, four assists and two steals to lead St. Catherine.
• Lily Peper scored 17 points with four rebounds and two assists.
