MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University women's lacrosse team fell to Augustana College 23-3 in a nonconference game on Friday at Edor Nelson Field. Augsburg's performance included a two-goal effort from
Isabella Kohout. Augustana outshot Augsburg by a 40-5 margin in the game.

GAME RECAP
The game opened with both teams establishing their defenses, with the Auggies'
Kaylee Bencker making an early save against Augustana's Madison Langewisch. Despite Bencker's efforts, Augustana's Em Dornbusch scored the first goal at 10:51. Augsburg struggled to maintain possession, committing several turnovers, and faced difficulties in their clear attempts. Augustana capitalized on Augsburg's turnovers, scoring multiple goals, including a man-up goal by Colleen Chiavola at 8:03. The Vikings continued to extend their lead, with a goal by Leah Greiber at 1:05 and another by Hayley Thompson on a free position shot with 19 seconds remaining. The quarter concluded with the Auggies trailing 7-0.
Augsburg faced a challenging second quarter, during which Augustana extended its lead significantly. Kritika Chitnis scored twice for the Vikings, with additional goals from Leah Greiber, Madison Langewisch, Becca Lacina, and Jackie McNair. Despite multiple turnovers and failed clear attempts, Augsburg's goalkeeper,
Nicole Schuster, made several saves to fend off further scoring attempts. The quarter concluded with Augsburg trailing 13-0.
In the third quarter, Augsburg gained momentum with
Isabella Kohout securing a draw control that later resulted in a man-up goal for the Auggies at 3:59. Kohout's efforts were notable as she not only scored but also added three draw controls, three caused turnovers, and two ground balls in the game. Despite facing challenges from Augustana, including a series of turnovers and fouls, Augsburg continued to fight back.
Breya Sawyer added another goal at 0:27, closing the quarter with Augsburg scoring twice.
In the fourth quarter, Augsburg responded to a series of goals by the Vikings with a free position goal by Kohout at 7:29. Augsburg's defense, led by
