GAME RECAP
The first quarter began with Augsburg's

Despite these efforts, the Auggies faced challenges as Saint Benedict capitalized on turnovers, resulting in a series of goals. Augsburg's attempts to clear the ball were met with mixed success, contributing to a challenging defensive stance.
Augsburg faced challenges in the second quarter as Saint Benedict extended its lead. Despite a turnover caused by
Emma Ryan early in the quarter, Augsburg struggled to generate offensive momentum. Key attempts on goal by
Breya Sawyer and
Isabella Kohout were both saved by Saint Benedict's goalie, Ashley Fischer. The quarter ended with the Auggies unable to find the back of the net, trailing 16-0.
In the third quarter, Augsburg managed to break through the Saint Benedict defense with a free position shot goal by
Leila Klym at 6:49, marking its first score of the game. Klym also contributed with two draw controls during the match, aiding Augsburg's efforts to gain possession. Despite this effort, Saint Benedict maintained its offensive pressure, with multiple goals, including a pair from Sami Hackley, widening its lead.
Augsburg struggled to gain momentum in the fourth quarter as the Bennies secured the draw control early and quickly scored with Helena Siska finding the net just 16 seconds in. Despite a draw control by Klym, the Auggies faced challenges in maintaining possession, committing turnovers and fouls that allowed Saint Benedict to capitalize with a series of goals, including two by Ava Mosley.
Sydney Bainville also made a significant impact with a draw control and a caused turnover, though it was not enough to turn the tide. The defensive efforts by goalkeeper
Wendy Bravo, who recorded a save against a shot from Lizzie Schrubbe, were not enough to stem the offensive surge from Saint Benedict.
