2012 BASEBALL (24-15 overall, 10-10 MIAC--t4th/11 in 2012 … 11-22 overall, 6-14 MIAC--t9th/11 in 2011) -- Augsburg finished 24-15 overall, 10-10 in MIAC play in 2012 -- a 13-win improvement over the Auggies’ 2011 record. Augsburg's 24 victories marked the fourth time that the Auggies have won 20 or more games in head coach Keith Bateman’s nine seasons at Augsburg, and the Auggies' best record since a 24-18 mark in the 2005 season. Shortstop Adam Carl earned All-MIAC honors, and was also named to the ABCA All-Midwest Region squad as a second-team selection. Pitcher Ryan Mestnik was named to the D3baseball.com All-Midwest Region third team, and first baseman Tom Petersen, outfielder Tim Gerding and second baseman Louie LaChapelle were named All-MIAC honorable-mention. Pitcher Tanner Oakes earned MIAC All-Defensive Team honors, and infielder Bobby Monsour was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

BASKETBALL (21-7 overall, 14-6 MIAC—3rd/11 in 2012-13 … 16-10 overall, 13-7 MIAC--4th/11 in 2011-12) -- Augsburg finished 21-7 overall, 14-6 in MIAC play -- a five-win improvement over the team’s record the previous year. Augsburg reached the MIAC postseason playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons, while reaching the playoff championship game for the first time under eighth-year head coach Aaron Griess. The double-digit victories marked the seventh straight year that Augsburg has recorded double-digit wins under Griess, and the first time the Auggies have reached the 20-win mark since the 1998-99 MIAC championship season. Post player Dan Kornbaum was named to the All-MIAC squad, also earning D3hoops.com All-West Region second-team honors and NABC All-West District second-team honors. Guard Parker Hines, guard Tyler Schmidt and forward Noah Veach were named All-MIAC honorable mention, with Veach also earning MIAC All-Defensive Team honors. Post player Brett Rasmussen earned All-MIAC First-Year Team and D3hoops.com West Region Rookie of the Year honors, and forward Andy Seidlitz was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

FOOTBALL (7-3 overall, 5-3 MIAC--t4th/9 in 2012 … 6-4 overall, 4-4 MIAC--t5th/9 in 2011) – Under eighth-year head coach Frank Haege, Augsburg finished 7-3 overall, 5-3 in MIAC play in 2012 -- the best overall record for the Auggies since finishing 10-2 overall (9-1 MIAC) in its 1997 MIAC championship season. The 7-3 record also marks Augsburg's second straight above-.500 overall finish -- the first time Augsburg has finished above-.500 in consecutive seasons since a three-year stretch from 1997 to 1999. Tight end Adam Carl earned All-MIAC first-team, D3football.com All-West Region first-team and D3football.com All-America first-team honors. Quarterback Ayrton Scott, wide receiver Tyler Swanson and offensive lineman Brian Rud were named to the All-MIAC first team, while defensive lineman Chris DeVet, linebacker Bryce Vee, defensive back/wide receiver Hakeem Bourne-McFarlane and offensive lineman Chad Thompson were named to the All-MIAC second team. Scott, Bourne-McFarlane and Rud also earned D3football.com All-West Region third-team honors, and offensive lineman Eric Dooley was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

GOLF (6th/10 at 2012 MIAC Championships… 7th/10 at 2011 MIAC Championships) -- Under seventh-year head coach Ted Vickerman, Augsburg finished sixth at the 2012 MIAC Championships, its best conference meet finish since a third-place finish in the 2008 league meet, and a one-spot improvement over last year’s seventh-place finish. Augsburg finished the fall half of the 2012-13 season with a 316.0 team stroke average. Three Auggies had sub-80.0 stroke averages in the fall half of the season -- led by senior Zach Johnson, who had a 78.1 average. Eric Aughinbaugh had a 79.2 fall stroke average and Justin Popp had a 79.9 fall average. Popp finished 18th at the MIAC Championships, while Johnson finished 20th and Popp placed 24th.
