CHAD JOHNSON (Wrestling) -- Elementary Education major, 3.46 GPA – NCAA National Champion 2013, 2012 … NCAA All-America 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 … NCAA National Tournament qualifier 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011 … NCAA Regional Champion 2014, 2013, 2012, NWCA Scholar All-America 2014, 2013, 2012 … Sixth wrestler in Augsburg history to earn at least four All-American honors, winning heavyweight national titles in 2013 and 2012, while finishing third in 2014 and seventh in 2011 … Finished his career with 140-15 record, including 44 pins, three technical falls and 27 major decisions … Had 108-4 record over final three seasons of career … Finished 35-2 in 2013-14, 37-1 in 2012-13, 36-1 in 2011-12 and 32-11 in 2010-11 … Did not lose to a Division III opponent from the seventh-place match at the 2011 national tournament until the national semifinals in 2014 … Finished each of his seasons with victories (seventh-place match in 2011, national championship matches in 2012 and 2013, third-place match in 2014) … Won NCAA regional titles in senior, junior and sophomore years, finished “true second” in first year.

LAUREN RICE (Track and Field/Cross Country) -- Communication Studies major, 4.00 GPA – Cross Country: All-MIAC 2012, NCAA Division III All-Central Region 2012; Track and Field: NCAA All-America 2014 (indoor track and field), NCAA National Championships qualifier 2014 (indoor track and field), All-MIAC 2014 (indoor track and field), All-MIAC honorable mention 2013 (outdoor track and field), NCAA Elite 89 Award 2013 (indoor track and field) … Competed in cross country in 2012 season, finishing in eighth place (22:43 6K) at 2012 MIAC Championships and 23rd (23:15 6K) at 2012 Division III Central Regional … In 2013 outdoor track, finished fourth in 10,000-meter run and sixth in 5,000-meter run at MIAC Outdoor Championships … Also set school record in 5,000-meter run (17:51.31) during 2013 outdoor season … In 2014 indoor track, claimed All-America honors with eighth-place finish in 5,000-meter run at NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships, setting school record with 17:07.98 time … Named winner of NCAA Elite 89 Award for being student-athlete with highest GPA at NCAA meet … Won conference title in 5,000-meter run at MIAC Indoor Championships (17:19.92) and finished second in 3,000-meter run (school-record 9:59.28).

DAN KORNBAUM (Basketball) – MIAC Player of the Year, All-MIAC, D3hoops.com All-America second team … NABC All-America second team, D3hoops.com All-West Region first team, NABC All-West District first team, Jostens Trophy finalist, MIAC Athlete of the Week (Jan. 20), D3hoops.com Team of the Week (Jan. 16) … Post… Kornbaum was one of the most dominant big men in small-college basketball this season, averaging 19.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per-game … He was the MIAC's scoring champion in both overall (19.3) and conference games-only (19.1) … In MIAC overall statistics, Kornbaum led the league in points scored (502), field goals made (208) and blocked shots (43), while ranking second in field-goal percentage (.667), rebounds per-game (7.9), overall rebounds (205) and offensive rebounds (66), and ranking third in defensive rebounds (139) … Among NCAA Division III players nationally, Kornbaum ranks fourth in field-goal percentage (.667) and ninth in field goals made (208), while ranking 58th in points per-game (19.3) … He recorded six point-rebound double-doubles this season, while recording 20-plus points 13 times.

ASHLEY PEPER (Volleyball) – All-MIAC, AVCA All-Central Region, AVCA All-America first team, MIAC Hitter of the Week (Sept. 3, Sept 24) …  Right Side Hitter… Peper was one of the top hitters in the country this season, ranking seventh among NCAA Division III players nationally in kills per-set (4.49) and ranking ninth in points per-set (4.99), both totals tops among MIAC players in overall statistics … She finished the season with 507 kills, the only MIAC player to record 500-plus kills and 4.00-or-more kills per-set this season, while her 564.0 points were also league-highs … Her .340 hitting percentage was fourth-best among MIAC players in overall statistics and 52nd-best nationally … She claimed double-digit kill totals in 29 matches this season, with 12 kill-dig double-doubles … She also recorded 54 blocks (14 solo, 0.48 per-set), 283 digs (2.50 per-set), 23 service aces (0.20 per-set) and 50 assists (0.44 per-set) this season … Part of a conference regular-season champion and NCAA Division III national tournament volleyball squad.

TAYLOR TRAUTMAN (Volleyball) – Middle Hitter… Played in 34 matches, starting 30 … Led the team in blocks with 85 (19 solo) ... Finished 11th in the MIAC in blocks per-set with 0.75 ... Finished third on the team with 185 kills and 246 points … Also recorded 68 digs … Had 17 matches with six-plus kills and 14 matches with three-plus total blocks this season … Member of Augsburg squad that won MIAC regular-season title and advanced to NCAA National Tournament.

BASKETBALL (18-8 overall, 14-6 MIAC -- 3rd/11) -- Augsburg finished third in the MIAC for fourth time in the nine years that Aaron Griess has been head coach … The Auggies made it back to the MIAC Playoffs for the third consecutive season (five out of the last six seasons) ...  Post player Dan Kornbaum was named MIAC Men’s Basketball Joe Hutton Player of the Year, All-MIAC, D3hoops.com All-West Region first team and NABC All-West District first team, D3hoops All-America second team, NABC Division III All-America second team, and was named to the 2014 Reese’s Division III College All-Star game … Andy Seidlitz and Noah Veach earned All-MIAC honors as well … Parker Hines received an All-MIAC honorable-mention.

VOLLEYBALL (29-5 overall, 10-1 MIAC -- t-1st/12) -- For the first time in school history, Augsburg claimed a share of the MIAC regular-season championship with a 10-1 league record, qualifying for the NCAA Division III national tournament for the second time in school history, reaching the second round … Coach Jane Becker was named as both the MIAC and AVCA Central Region Coach of the Year … Four Auggies received MIAC honors… Colleen Ourada, Ashley Peper and Emily McCourt were named to the All-MIAC squad while Katelyn Berens received the honor of being selected to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team… Ourada, Peper, and McCourt all went on to be named AVCA Division III All-Region and then AVCA Division III All-Americans … Augsburg’s 29 victories were tied for the third-most wins in a single season in school history. Augsburg won 23 matches by three-set sweep and had a 93-21 record in its 114 sets, outscoring its opponents by a 2,708-to-2,175 margin (23.8-to-19.1 per-set) this season.

HOCKEY (8-14-3 overall, 7-8-2 in MIAC--6th/9 in 2012-13; 13-9-3 overall, 6-7-3 in MIAC--6th/9 in 2013-14) – Augsburg finished 13-9-3 overall, five more wins than in the 2012-13 season… Augsburg went 8-0-1 in its first nine games of the season and outscored its opponents by a 79-70 margin during the year … The Auggies also claimed a victory in the first-ever MIAC shootout… Augsburg finished sixth in the MIAC, just missing a spot in MIAC playoffs … Forward Mack Ohnsted and defender Chris Student earned All-MIAC honors, while Zach Dick was named to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
