Forward (Soccer)/Guard (Basketball) … In soccer, she competed in and started all 20 games … Recorded a team-leading 13 goals while adding 10 assists for a team-leading 36 points … Her 13 goals were tied for the most in the MIAC this season, while her 10 assists were second-most in the MIAC, only trailing teammate Marta Anderson … She had a goal or an assist in 12 of her 20 games played this season, including three multi-goal games and seven multi-point games … Fitzgerald played in 1,526 minutes this season, a 76.3 minutes-per-game average, and had three game-winning goals … In basketball, she played in 24 games this season … She was third on the team in rebounding (3.8 rpg) and third in assists (56) … She averaged 2.9 points per-game and 24.7 minutes per-game.
ASHLEY PEPER (Volleyball) -- AVCA All-America (second team), AVCA All-Central Region, All-MIAC, MIAC hitter of the Week (Sept. 8, Sept, 14 and Oct. 12), All-Tournament Team (Northwestern Tournament, Augsburg Invite), Academic All-MIAC … Right-side Hitter … Appeared in 105 of the team’s 106 sets played this year … Finished with team bests of 451 kills, 4.30 kills per-set and a .325 attack percentage … She finished second on the team with 48 blocks (11 solo, 0.46 per-set), and 333 digs (3.17 per-set) … Added 21 service aces and 55 assists … This season, Peper recorded 20 kill-dig double-doubles, posting 20-plus kills in six matches … She led the MIAC in overall statistics in kills and total points (501.5), while ranking 13th among NCAA Division III players nationally in kills per-set and 18th in points per-set. |

 CALLIE JONES (Track and Field) -- USTFCCCA All-Region 2X (60 meters and long jump), MIAC Champion (indoor 55-meter dash), All-MIAC (outdoor and indoor) … In the 2015 outdoor season, she earned All-MIAC honors with a second-place finish in 100-meter dash (12.15 seconds) at MIAC Championships ... Also competed and finished seventh in 200-meter dash (26.64 seconds) … Jones also competed on 1,600-meter relay squad that finished ninth … In 2016 indoor season, she won conference title in 55-meter dash in 7.27 seconds, while finishing sixth in the 200-meter dash (26.62) … Also competed in long jump during season, posting the second-best mark in the MIAC with a distance of 5.31 meters (17-feet-5.25) … Earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in 60 and long jump. |

Among league rookies, she tied for second in points while leading in goals … She had a goal or assist in 13 of her 25 games, including five multiple-point games. |
MEN'S TEAM OF THE YEAR
HOCKEY (17-9-2 overall, 11-3-2 MIAC, MIAC Regular Season and Playoff champions, NCAA Division III national playoff quarterfinalist) -- Augsburg finished as conference regular season and playoff champions, its first conference championship since the 1997-98 season, third straight double-digit win season and sixth in the last seven seasons … Augsburg secured the playoff championship with a triple-overtime victory over Saint John’s, the third longest game in NCAA D-III history … Forwards Corbin Chapman and Nate Flynn, goalie Jordyn Kaufer and defenders Eli May and Rory Vesel earned All-MIAC honors, with Kaufer also earning AHCA Division III All-America second-team honors ... Forwards Mack Ohnsted and Trevor Stewart earned All-MIAC honorable mention recognition and Head Coach Chris Brown was named the conference’s Coach of the Year. |
WOMEN'S TEAM OF THE YEAR
SOCCER (14-6 overall, 8-3-0 MIAC, MIAC playoff semifinalist) -- Augsburg followed up its best season in the 30-year history of the program and conference championship in a three-way tie for second to qualify for postseason play for the third time in the last four years and the seventh time in program history … It’s the fourth straight year they have finished with double-digit wins … Augsburg outscored its opponents by a 51-15 margin this season, with its goal total tops among MIAC teams by a 15-goal margin … Forward Marie Fitzgerald was named MIAC Offensive Player of the Year, one of four Auggies to earn end-of-season honors: Marta Anderson (All-MIAC), Carter Denison (All-MIAC HM, Emily Gregg (All-MIAC HM) … Fitzgerald also garnered NSCAA All-American Division III third-team and All-North Region first team honors, while Anderson was selected as a third-team honoree on the All-North Region team … The All-America honor is the second in program history. Fitzgerald was also named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America second team and first team Scholar All-Region … Augsburg claimed a 2-0 win over St. Catherine in the MIAC playoff quarterfinals, then fell to St. Thomas 2-0 in the semifinals. |
MEN'S MOST IMPROVED TEAM
GOLF (6th at 2014 MIAC Championships; 2015 MIAC Champions) -- With all five players finishing among the top 35 in the individual standings, Augsburg won the MIAC Championships in the fall, and earned the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships, which will be held May 10-13 in Rochester, N.Y. … Michael Barrette earned All-Championship honors, finishing in second place with a 219 total. Barrette’s 12 birdies in the tournament were the most of any competitor ... Brett Gaustad also earned All-Championship honors, finishing in a tie for fifth place with a 222 total … Augsburg finished the fall half of the 2015-16 season with a 302.2 team stroke average, with five players recording sub-80 stroke averages … Augsburg recorded 11 sub-310 team rounds among its 12 in the fall half of the season. |
WOMEN'S MOST IMPROVED TEAM
HOCKEY (9-11-5 overall, 7-7-4 MIAC in 2014-15; 13-10-3 overall, 10-5-3 MIAC in 2015-16) -- Augsburg recorded its best finish in conference play since the 1999-00 season, finishing in third place with a 10-5-3 league record … Augsburg’s 13 overall wins also tied its best overall finish since the 2004-05 season … The Auggies swept St. Catherine, St. Olaf, Concordia, and Hamline in league play … Three Auggies earned All-MIAC honors: forward Kayla Fuechtmann, goalie Erika Allen and forward Callen Naasz, while three more were named All-MIAC honorable-mention: Defender Valeria Whichello, defender Danielle Heitkamp and forward Megan Johnson … Fuechtman was named the 2016 recipient of the MIAC’s Sheila Brown Award, which is given to a senior women’s hockey player who has made a long-term contribution to her team’s success and who has consistently competed with good sportsmanship. |
