Molly Dorsey, who has coached and choreographed dance teams at both the college and high school level, was hired as the new dance team coach at Augsburg College in the summer of 2010.
A native of Merrill, Wis., Dorsey was a member of dance teams at both Merrill High School and the Univeristy of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. At UW-Stevens Point, she was a member of the school's award-winning dance team, placing first at the UPA Americup Nationals and regional competitions for three straight years. She also worked as a choreographer and coach for various college and high school teams throughout Wisconsin. Dorsey also spent time overseas in London, studying dance and theatre arts while taking part in a business internship.
Dorsey relocated to the Twin Cities to expand her dance education to ballroom and latin styles, where she received daily training from top professionals, began teaching all forms of partner dancing, and performed at various events throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul. Shortly after moving to Minneapolis, Dorsey was hired as the manager for a local ballroom and performing arts studio.
Outside of dance, Dorsey has served three years as a marketing manager for an international corporation and has worked as a cosmetologist for more than six years, specializing in performance hairstyling for competitive ballroom students and dance teams.
