Bill Kriesel

Bill Kriesel (Augsburg '96) returns to the Augsburg coaching staff for his ninth season as a defensive backs coach in 2012. Kriesel is in his third stint as an assistant coach at Augsburg, having previously served on the coaching staff during the 1996-98 and 2003-04 seasons.

Playing Career/Acheivements:
One of the top defensive backs in school history, Kriesel claimed 15 interceptions in his career (1992-95), the second-most in school history. He earned All-MIAC honors three times in his career. His eight pickoffs in 1993 and three interceptions in a 1992 game against St. Thomas remain single-season and single-game school records. Kriesel earned Academic All-MIAC honors in 1995. From 1999-2001, Kriesel played professional football in Germany before returning to Minnesota.

Personal/Family Notes:
A native of Rosemount, Minn., he lives in New Market, Minn., with his wife Nicci, a 1997 Augsburg alum who played two seasons of soccer (1996-97) for their Auggies, and their daughters Macy and Shay.Kriesel earned his bachelor's degree from Augsburg in 1996 and his master's of business administration degree from the University of Phoenix in 2010. He currently co-owns a painting company, Kriesel Brothers Painting.
