Auggie Athlete FAQs
Career Goal: My biggest career goal is to make it to the NFL. I also want to make history here at Augsburg being the first to play professional football after college coming from Augsburg. On the non athletic side of things I want to become a psychologist and open a practice in my own neighborhood of north minneapolis and help fight mental illnesses in the black community
Why did I choose to attend Augsburg? I chose Augsburg because its close to the cities, its diverse, and the community is welcoming. Plus the opportunities that are there for you once you graduate can take you a very long way and I want to start my legacy here as an Auggie.

Biggest Thrill in Athletics: I use sports as a way to deal with stress and I get to be my true self when i'm on the field doing what I love. This game has brought many blessings, lessons, trials and tribulations and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.
What differentiates you from teammates or other students (what makes you special and interesting)? I approach life and the game of football in a different manner. Football is all I have. It gives me a sense of self. Other people may see it as just a game or something that's fun, I see it as a way of life. I look at it as something that can get my family out of the slums.
What is a little known fact about yourself? I really enjoy being by myself and strive to be unique or to stand out in a positve manner. I used to be a very shy and timid kid but football helped bring me confidence once I saw that I was good at it.
Any interesting, non-athletic hobbies, talents or unusual facts about yourself? I have a youtube channel. I love to draw, watch movies and play video games. I used to love dancing and making music but once i got into football I tended to focus more on that.
What are you most thankful for? I am thankful for my father Gerald Shepherd Sr. he raised me to be who I am today and I have no idea what I would do without him. I am thankful for my family as well they are the reason why I strive for greatness. I am thankful for the man up above as well for granting me every opportunity to make something of myself.
Any other personal tidbits? My sophomore year of high school I lost a very important person to me. Elizabeth Bible was a very huge mother figure for me. She's the reason why I am still playing the game of football. Every time I step on the field is in her honor she is my biggest motivation to be great. I also lost my brother my senior year of high school, Keimonte White, we weren't related by blood but he was my brother. I have both of their names written on my cleats because they carry me through every time I lace up my cleats. Coming from nothing really humbles you. I was homeless in 7th grade and my freshman year of high school so being where I am today is a blessing and I wasn't supposed to be here but here I AM.
