Adam Maronde (Wisconsin-La Crosse '05) began his duties as the strength and conditioning coach at Augsburg College in September 2009. Prior to joining the Augsburg staff, he served as a strength and conditioning coach and instructor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
At Wisconsin-La Crosse, Maronde served as a student strength and conditioning coach from 2003-05 and as a graduate assistant from 2006-08, before assuming his position as strength and conditioning director and lecturer in September 2008. He also served as head strength coach for the Eagles’ wrestling program. Five NCAA Division III national titlists and 25 All-Americans have trained under Maronde.
In addition to his time at Wisconsin-La Crosse, Maronde also served as strength coach for the Everett (Wash.) Aquasox, a short-season minor league baseball affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, in the 2008 and 2009 seasons, and served as a strength and conditioning intern for several sports at the University of Minnesota in January 2009. In 2005, he served an internship at Athletes’ Performance, a competitive athletics performance training institute in Tempe, Ariz.
Maronde earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education (strength and conditioning concentration) from Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2005 and his master’s degree in human performance (strength and conditioning concentration) in 2008. He received a National Strength and Conditioning Association Student Assistantship Award in 2007 and presented at the NSCA’s 2008 Wisconsin clinic. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist.
A native of Grafton, Wis., Maronde and his wife Erica now live in Minneapolis.
