Dave Thomforde enters his sixth season as an assistant coach on the Augsburg men's basketball staff for the 2020-21 season, part of his 35-plus years experience coaching basketball. Thomforde assists in the day-to-day operations of practice and game preparation, in addition to recruiting responsibilities.

Head Girls Coach - St. Paul Academy (2000-04)
Head Boys Coach - St. Paul Academy/Summit School (1983-95) - 167-82 overall record, finished in the top three in the conference nine out of 12 years, won three conference titles and recorded three section runner-up finishes.
Varsity Boys Assistant - Minnehaha Academy (1982)

Playing Experience/Achievements:
Thomforde played point guard at Hamline University from 1977-82. His senior year he was third in NCAA Division III basketball shooting 93.7 percent from the free-throw line. Thomforde averaged 7.0 points-per-game and 2.5 assists-per-game in his career.
Personal/Family Notes:
A native of Red Wing, Minn., Dave and his wife Cheri reside in Apple Valley, Minn. Thomforde recently retired after his 35th year teaching as an elementary physical education teacher at St. Paul Academy and Summit School. They have four children: Carly, Dane, Ethan, and Haley.
