David Kowen (Occidental '05) enters his third season as an assistant men's basketball coach. Kowen will assist with the on-court development of the Augsburg post players, as well as with all practice and game-day operations. Kowen acts as an assistant coach of the Augsburg JV program.

Assistant Coach- Punahou High School (2005-2009)
Playing Career/Achievements:
Kowen was a two-sport athlete at Occidental College in Los Angeles, Cali., participating in both basketball and water polo during his four-year career. Kowen was selected as the water polo team's "Rookie of the Year" at the conclusion of the 2002 season.
Prior to his enrollment at Occidental, Kowen was an All-State Honorable Mention selection in basketball and a first-team All-Conference selection in water polo at Punahou High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Personal/Family Notes:
A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kowen and his wife Tiare reside in south Minneapolis. Kowen is currently pursing a master of arts in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute.
