Ryan Rasmussen (Hamline '08) became the head strength & conditioning coach at Augsburg College in the summer of 2015. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is the first collegiate strength and conditioning coach in the world to undertake the RESET Certification. Additionally, he is the President and Director of Sport Performance of Master Plan Athletics.
Prior to coaching at Augsburg, Coach Rasmussen was an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Hamline University. While earning his Master of Education in Applied Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota, he was an intern in the strength and conditioning program at the U of M.
Coach Rasmussen has trained athletes from virtually every sport, ranging from youth athletes all the way up to the professional and Olympic levels. He strives to bring the type of training that is normally reserved for upper echelon athletes to the athletes at Augsburg College.
Born and raised in Lakeville, Minn., Rasmussen played hockey, football, and baseball while growing up in Lakeville. After high school, he went to Hamline University where he was a 4-year letter-winning member of the football team and was voted team captain for his senior season.
