Ted Vickerman

Ted Vickerman (Augsburg '02) enters his seventh season as head golf coach at Augsburg in 2012-13. Vickerman, who was named co-head coach for the Augsburg men's golf program in May 2005, assumed head coaching duties on a solo basis prior to the 2007-08 season. In August 2009, he also assumed head coaching duties for the Augsburg women's golf program.

Augsburg Coaching Highlights:
2011-12: improved conference finish by one spot at the men's MIAC Championship Meet; junior Zach Johnson recorded a 15th place finish at the MIAC Championships with a three-day total score of 230.
2010-11: senior Joel Kociemba earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors with a three-day total of 227 at the MIAC Championship Meet; senior Stefani Zappa named NCAA Woman of the Year, and finishing her career with the third-best stroke average in school history incliding a seventh-place finish at the MIAC Championship Meet.
2009-10: junior Joel Kociemba recorded a final round 72 to finish in 13th place at the MIAC Meet; Kociemba's 72 matched the lowest score by any golfer recorded during the three-day competition.
2008-09: led team to third-place team finish at MIAC Conference Championship Meet; junior Tony Vanjo and senior Colby Anderson earned All-MIAC honors, as the duo finished in second and seventh-place respectively; earned first-place team finish at the Central Dutch Classic with a team score of 313.
2007-08: senior Andrew Womeldorf shot a 1-under par round of 71 to earn medalist honors in the team's dual meet victory over Concordia on April 29, 2008.
2006-07: led team to second-place finish at MIAC Championships as four golfers placed in the top-15 including All-MIAC honorees Andrew Johnson and Erik Helgerson; Johnson and Helgerson were named Cleveland Golf Division III All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America for the second consecutive season.

Playing Career/Acheivements:
A four-year veteran of Augsburg's men's golf program (1999-2002), Vickerman compiled a 78.86 career stroke average in his four seasons (57 rounds) at Augsburg, including a career-best 76.67 average in the fall half of 2002-03 (Vickerman graduated in December 2002). He earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors with a fifth-place finish at the MIAC championships in 2001, while finishing 18th in the conference meet in 2002.

He is active in Twin Cities golf, playing to a low single-digit USGA handicap, and competed in the 2009 USGA Public Links Championship after winning a sectional qualifying meet. Vickerman also has experience with fundamental instruction from three golf teachers ranked in the top 30 by Golf Digest.

Other Duties/Campus Involvement at Augsburg:
Vickerman serves as a Game Management Coordinator in the Augsburg Athletic Department.

Personal/Family Notes:
After graduating from Augsburg with a bachelor's degree in business administration with minors in accounting and religion, Vickerman moved to New Zealand, where he worked as a payment officer for the country's Ministry of Health. He returned to Minnesota in 2003 when he started his own commercial outdoor lighting firm. Vickerman was a Dean's List student with a 3.6 GPA at Augsburg, earning Academic All-MIAC honors his sophomore, junior and senior years.

Vickerman, a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., is currently president and owner of Noble Seasonal Lighting, a company that specializes in commercial outdoor lighting located in Chaska, Minn..
