Kyle Singer (Virginia '01), a former Division I and professional player and coach, is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Augsburg men's soccer program.

A native of Plymouth, Minn., Singer played for three seasons (2002-04) with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. He also competed professionally for the New Hampshire Phantoms of the Premier Development League.

Collegiately, he played three seasons at Virginia and one at Boston College. He played 30 matches in goal for the Cavaliers, then led the Eagles to their best finish in school history, winning 17 games and reaching the 2002 NCAA Division I Elite Eight. He was named Big East Conference Goalkeeper of the Year, earning first-team all-conference, first-team all-region and honorable-mention All-America honors.

Prior to his collegiate career, he played on the United States U-17 national team in the U-17 World Cup in Egypt. 

He has spent several years in the coaching ranks, coaching at Northeastern (2003-04, men and women), Boston College (2005, men and women) and Minnesota (2006, women), before spending six seasons (2007-12) as an assistant coach for the Louisville women's soccer program, the final three as associate head coach.

He has previously served as goalkeeper coach for the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program Girls' Region II program.

Singer earned his bachelor's degree in foreign affairs from Virginia in 2002, then earned his master's degree in higher education administration from Boston College. He holds a USSF "A" license.
