Pam LatterellĀ (Wisconsin-River Falls '93) joined the Augsburg's softball coaching staff in the 2017-18 school year. She also serves the athletic department in concessions and athletic merchandising.
Before coming to Augsburg, Latterell spent the prior two seasons as an assistant coach at Macalester College, and served for eight seasons (2008-15) as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Wisconsin-River Falls. The Falcons won the WIAC playoff title and advanced to the NCAA Division III national tournament in both 2011 and 2012, and she was on the staff selected as the NFCA Great Lakes Region Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2011 and 2012. She also served as a student assistant coach at UW-River Falls in 1991 and 1994.
Latterell played her first three seasons of collegiate softball at the College of St. Scholastica, where she earned all-conference honors twice and was named an NAIA All-American. In 1993, she transferred to UW-River Falls, where she was a starter on a WIACĀ championship team that won a then-school-record 28 games. In 1995, she played professionally as an outfielder in the Women's Professional Fastpitch League. A native of Foley, Minn., LatterellĀ was inducted into her high school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
LatterellĀ earned her bachelor's degree in biology from UW-River Falls in 1993, and later earned two master's degrees, in sports medicine and sports coaching, from the United States Sports Academy. She is also a certified massage therapist (orthopedic massage) and has worked with Catalyst Sports Medicine in Hudson, Wis.
LatterellĀ also serves as a coach for the St. Croix Surge youth softball team.
