Cory Pfeifer (UW-River Falls '25) joined the Augsburg cross country and track and field teams as a graduate fellow assistant coach in the fall of 26.
- Graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in CoachingÂ
- Spent four years competing in cross country and track and field for UWRF, with collegiate bests of 4:22 (1500), 9:29 (3000), and 28:45 (8k, cross country)
- Served as a team captain during senior year, also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
- Was part of a significant turnaround within the UWRF distance programs, helping the team move from a perennial last-place program to a competitive team at both the conference and regional standingsÂ
- Also worked with the Sports Information staff at UWRFÂ
- After graduating, continued competing as an unattached runner, setting new personal bests of 4:38 (mile) and 16:19 (5k)Â
- Also stepped into marathon training, running a 2:55 at the Madison Marathon in Nov. 2025 and a 1:24 half marathon
- Served as a Sports Information Assistant at Marian University (Wis.) from 2025-26, assisting with communications for the university's NCAA and club sports programsÂ
- Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Leadership at AugsburgÂ
- Also works as a timer for Fast Finish Results, a timing company based in Farmington, Minn., timing cross country, track and field, and road races in the Twin Cities areaÂ
- Plans to continue racing competitively while coaching with the team
- Lives in River Falls, Wis.
