Alyssa Johnson (North Dakota ‘08) enters her first season on the Augsburg women’s hockey coaching staff.
A native of Fergus Falls, Minn., Johnson played three seasons (2005-08) at the Division I University of North Dakota, earning the team’s Ironwoman Award for off-ice conditioning in 2007. A defender/forward, she played 87 games for the Fighting Sioux, with a goal and seven assists for eight points in her career.
Johnson was a physical education/exercise science and wellness major at UND, graduating magna cum laude in 2008. She earned UND Scholar-Athlete, UND Athletic Director Academic Achievement Award and Academic All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association honors.
In her high school days at Fergus Falls, she earned both all-state and academic all-state honors, and was the first Fergus Falls girls’ hockey player to ever accumulate 100 career points. Johnson currently works as a personal trainer and lives in Jordan, Minn.
