Len Olson (Northern Michigan ‘76) enters his first season on the Augsburg women’s hockey coaching staff.
Olson has served as a coach for numerous competitive hockey teams on the youth and amateur level. He has coached teams in Waconia, Minn., Bloomington (Minn.) Jefferson, Minnetonka, Minn., and Marquette, Mich., and has been a part of three state championship and several regional tournament teams. He has coached three players who have played in the National Hockey League (Dan Trebil, Mike Crowley and Brian Bonin), and has served as both a referee and rules committee member for various organizations.
Olson played collegiately at Northern Michigan (1974-76) and played semi-pro hockey following his collegiate days. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan, and has pursued his master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas.
Olson has served as a principal at Works Computing, Inc., a Twin Cities information technology firm, for the past 12 years. He also serves on the board of directors for the Carver County American Red Cross chapter, has volunteered with Big Brothers and Girl Scouts, and also serves as a softball coach in Chaska, Minn. He lives in Victoria, Minn.
