Maggie Meyer (Mankato State '09) enters her third year on the Augsburg women's hockey coaching staff in 2020-21, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position.
Coaching Experience
Since 2010, Meyer has worked with the USA Select 15 camp as well as being a co-head coach for Minnesota High Performance since 2015. Additionally, Meyer has worked with the South Saint Paul JV and U12 programs as well as serving as an assistant coach at the University of St. Thomas for a season.
Playing Experience/AchievementsÂ
Meyer (nee Fisher) has an extensive playing history, which includes being a four-year starter on the NCAA Division I Mankato State Mankato women's hockey team. For the Mavericks, she was named to the All-Rookie team in 2005 as well as team captain and team MVP in 2009.
In her prep days, Meyer was a five-year member of the South Saint Paul High School hockey team. Her teams qualified for the Minnesota State High School hockey tournament in each of her five seasons, and won three Minnesota State Championships. Individually, she earned numerous accolades, including all-state recognition, being named the Star Tribune Player of the Year and being a finalist for the Ms. Hockey award.
In addition to her prep and collegiate experience, she also tried out for the women's U22 national team in 2006 and 2007 and was a member of the Minnesota Whitecaps during the 2009-10 season.Â
Personal Notes
Meyer earned her bachelor's degree in Corrections from Minnesota State Mankato in 2009, and currently works as a Child Support Specialist for Hennepin County.Â
