What I Like Most About Augsburg: What I like most about Augsburg is that it's very similar to my high school: progressive, a little cramped, and filled with tons of diverse characters. Those factors give Augsburg a life all its own.
Athletic Goals at Augsburg: It has become clear to me in recent years that the most vital aspect of a sport is having fun, which I want to accomplish here at Augsburg. Soccer, especially club and collegiate level, is so cut-throat and competitive that we lose sight of what's really important.
My Biggest Thrill in Athletics: The biggest thrill of playing soccer is when you have the ball at your feet in front of the goal and everything goes quiet and calm, and you come to the realization that no matter what, it's going to be a goal. And all in .5 of a second!
Special Facts: I would say my unrelenting perseverance.
Little Known Fact: I'm actually not left-footed. When I first started club, my left foot was so horrendous that it was affecting my game. I worked tirelessly on it, and now my left is more accurate than my right most of the time.
Unusual Fact: I am very invested in social justice, especially in intersectional feminism and the movement for Black lives that has sprung up in my hometown, St. Louis. I have gone to protests that have ended well, and some not so well, but I enjoy seeing the changes that are already taking place. Aside from that, I like running, organizing, singing in the car, and arguing with people.
Personal Tidbits: I have synesthesia, which means that in my mind, letters, numbers, and spaces of time have their own distinct color. I have had this ever since I could remember, and thought that everyone else did as well until I read a book about this "burdening phenomenon". Not burdening, just normal!
