Auggie Athlete FAQ:
Career Goal? Surgical Pediatric physician Assistant.
Why did I choose to attend Augsburg? I’ve known since I did a AVID tour on my birthday my freshman year of high school.
Athletic Goal at Augsburg? To be in shape and enjoy my sport and compete for fun.
Biggest Thrill in Athletics? Drinking cold water after a long practice and then eating a big plate of spaghetti and feeling well accomplished after training.
What differentiates you from teammates or other students? I think what makes me different from my team mates is nothing has come easy for me sports and academics and I typically don’t get something on the first five or 11th try but I never give up on my goal.
What is a little known fact about yourself? A fun fact about me is I broke four bones in my right foot from a swim practice and I walked on it for multiple days before seeing a doctor.
List any interesting, non-athletic hobbies, talents or unusual facts about yourself? I love to watch movies. I love to eat, make food, try new food, go to restaurants I have never been. I also love driving in my car listening to my music and singing and dancing to it. I also love taking my dog to the dog park and watching him make puppy friends.
What are you most thankful for? I am most thankful for my support team. My momma, dad, brother, my boyfriend (Simon) and grandparents.
Any other personal tidbits? My grandparents used to come to every swim meet of mine and now that my grandma has had Alzheimer's for 4 years they haven’t gone to a meet of mine in about 2-3 years now, my grandpa who never swam on a team loves to tell me how to be better which I hated at the time but now deeply miss. My grandpa has been a assistant coach no one asked for all of my life. He has been one of my biggest cheerleaders and biggest pushers. He really knows how to push my buttons. One time at a meet he was telling me about how I need to do something and I would do better. He was right, I hate to admit it because I was mad in the moment because I worked so hard just to be told to do better, but once it was time to get ready for my next race I was so mad and I did want he said be he may not have swam but he has multiple records from high school that have been standing for over 50 years. So I listened to this loud big pushy old man that loves me so much and I did great of that event that I was about to do.
