Auggie Athlete FAQs
Career Goal: My career goal is to keep setting and breaking lower times for myself. I want to be able to look back and see substantial improvement from year one to my very last year.
What I Like Most About Augsburg: Augsburg feels like home and the people that work here are obviously here to help students. Also Augsburg is very involved in the community which is important.
Athletic Goal at Augsburg: I want to take the next step as an athlete and compete at a higher level than I thought possible. Augsburg creates the perfect environment to achieve goals that were out of reach in high school.
Biggest Thrill in Athletics: The best feeling in the world for me is to beat myself. And by that I mean that I love setting a goal and completely blowing it out of the water, which makes me feel that I can do anything if I really want to (in or out of sports).
Special/Interesting Facts: What makes me special is that even after multiple set backs in my high school career (hospitalized for pneumonia-creating asthma and years of knee pain) I got better and better times. I am not one to give up and I put everything into my goals. I crave competition and use it to push myself even harder.
Little Known Fact: When I have a really hard run ahead of me I create a little mantra that I will chant in my head for the duration of it.
Unusual Fact: I like to play guitar, cook vegetarian food, ride and show my horse Rebel (whom I broke myself), hike, camp, canoe, rock crawl with my land cruiser, explore the Twin Gities, and go to cultural events. I can find an event to go to on any day you choose and make it one of the best days of your life.
