Alex Berger (Northern Michigan '15) enters her third season on the Augsburg volleyball coaching staff in 2018.
A libero/defensive specialist during her career with the Wildcats, she earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first-team honors in both her junior and senior seasons. One of three Wildcats to ever reach the 1,500 mark in career digs, she finished second in school history with 1,748, including a single-season school record 569 (4.82 per-set) her senior year and 512 (5.02 per-set) her junior year. She earned team Most Valuable Player honors her senior season.
She earned all-state honorable mention and all-conference honors during her high school career at Shakopee High School, part of a team that won the Class AAA state title in 2009. She also played club volleyball for Mizuno Northern Lights, the Shakopee Volleyball Association and USA High Performance.
Berger was a sports science major at Northern Michigan.
