Dr. Kristen Chamberlain, Associate Professor of Communication Studies and Environmental Studies, began serving as Augsburg's Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) in August 2025. The FAR is a key connection between academics and athletics. Chamberlain will help ensure Augsburg student-athletes are supported in both areas, serving as a faculty voice for athletics within Augsburg, the MIAC, and the NCAA. Chamberlain also serves Augsburg as Assistant Dean for Student Persistence and Graduation.

Chamberlain is deeply engaged in teaching and mentoring students, and brings a strong commitment to student success. She is an associate professor and Co-Chair of the Department of Communication Studies, Film, and New Media. At Augsburg, she teaches a variety of communication classes including public speaking, small group communication, introduction to communication studies, and environmental communication. Chamberlain is also on the faculty of Environmental Studies and teaches ENV 100: Environmental Connections.
