Marissa Lindback (Augsburg '07) has served as an assistant athletic trainer at her alma mater since 2017. Lindback works primarily with the Augsburg volleyball, men's wrestling and outdoor track and field teams.
A Minneapolis native and 2003 graduate of Minneapolis South High School, Lindback went on to collect two bachelor's degrees and two master's degrees. A two-sport athlete during her undergraduate career at Augsburg, Lindback was a captain on both the women’s basketball and softball teams. She graduated from Augsburg with degrees in sociology and psychology in 2007. Lindback then went on to attain two masters degrees, the first of which was a Master's of marriage and family therapy from Argosy University in Eagan, Minn., in 2009. The following fall, she enrolled in the athletic training program at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, N.D., earning her second Master's in 2011.
Prior to returning to Augsburg, Lindback served as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of St. Thomas from 2011-17, working with the men’s soccer, women’s hockey, baseball, and softball teams. While completing her second graduate degree at NDSU, Marissa also served as an athletic training graduate assistant. Her responsibilities included assisting with research projects, analyzing data, assisting with athletic training duties for the Bison football and wrestling teams, and also held responsibilities as a professor in the exercise science program.
Lindback is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association as well as the Minnesota Athletic Trainers Association. Marissa currently resides in Minneapolis with her dogs, Bruce, Johnson and Odie.
