OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Augsburg College wrestler
Niko Bogojevic (FY, Superior, Wis.) competed at the
USA Wrestling U.S. World Team Trials tournament over the weekend as one of seven entrants in the 120-kilogram (264.5-pound) Greco-Roman challenge event.
Bogojevic opened his tournament with a loss to Pete Kowalczuk (Sunkist Kids), falling 1-0, 0-1, 1-0. In his second match, Bogojevic dropped a 1-0, 2-0 decision to Minnesota Storm teammate Jake Kettler.
Bogojevic qualified to compete at the U.S. World Team Trials event by virtue of winning the 120-kilogram Senior Greco-Roman title at the
USA Wrestling Northern Plains Regional in Waterloo, Iowa, in May. In April, he finished third in Greco-Roman competition at the
USA Wrestling FILA Junior Nationals in Cleveland, Ohio. In May, he reached the finals of the
USA Wrestling FILA Junior World Team Trials in Franklin, Ind.
He will next compete July 1-3 in Greco-Roman competition at the
Junior Pan-American Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
