Volleyball -- Macalester 3, Augsburg 1
MINNEAPOLIS (10/2/99) -- Jennifer Hodges (Sr., Juneau, Alaska/Juneau-Douglas HS) scored 33 kills and Erika Lilley (Jr., Saugus, Calif.) had 70 assists to lead Macalester College to a four-game match victory over host Augsburg College in a hard-fought Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall. Game scores were 15-13, 15-9, 14-16 and 15-10 in favor of Macalester.
Macalester is now 13-6 overall and 4-1 in the MIAC, while Augsburg drops to 6-12 overall and 2-3 in the MIAC.
Missy Carlson (Sr., Cokato, Minn./Dassel-Cokato HS) led the Auggies with 18 kills and nine digs, while
Angie Rieger (Jr., Courtland, Minn./New Ulm Public HS) had 16 kills and 19 digs.
Emily Walen (Jr., Hastings, Minn.) had 53 assists for the Auggies.
Carleton resumes action Saturday, Oct. 2, by hosting the College of St. Catherine, while Augsburg hosts Macalester. Both matches are at 3 p.m.
