Kara Nelson (Fr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) put in a shot off a corner kick five minutes into the second overtime Friday, giving Augsburg College its first victory of the season, a 1-0 triumph over Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game at Augsburg's Anderson-Nelson Field.
Nelson lifted a shot into the far right corner of the net off a corner kick from
Sarah Verner (Sr., Minnetonka, Minn.), just the second corner kick of the game for the Auggies.
Augsburg is now 1-11 overall and 1-5 in the MIAC. Hamline falls to 3-10 overall and 0-7 in the MIAC, dropping its seventh game in a row.

Katie Cheese (So., Shakopee, Minn.), playing in just her 10th career game in the nets, made 17 saves to score her first career shutout.
Sarah Todd (So., Omaha, Neb.) had six shots on goal for the Pipers. Melissa Dunn (Fr., Forest Lake, Minn.) made four saves in a losing effort for Hamline.
Augsburg hosts St. Scholastica in a nonconference contest Sunday at 1 p.m., while Hamline hosts Concordia on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
