MINNEAPOLIS (9/16/99) -- Mindy Daughtery (Fr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the contest on a steal and score 24 minutes into the first half Thursday, leading her College of St. Catherine women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over host Augsburg College in a nonconference game at Anderson-Nelson Field.
St. Catherine, in its second year of varsity play, improves to 3-0 with the victory, while Augsburg falls to 0-5. St. Catherine is playing an independent schedule this season before moving to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play next year. Daughtery scored her season-high fourth goal for the Wildcats in the win.

Katie Cheese (So., Shakopee, Minn.), playing in just her third collegiate game in goal, made six saves in a strong effort. St. Catherine keeper Shana Olsen (Fr., Hibbing, Minn.) picked up the shutout victory with four saves.
Augsburg opens MIAC play with a game at Bethel on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.
