MINNEAPOLIS (9/25/99) -- Holly Harris (Sr., Redondo Beach, Calif./South HS) scored two goals and her Macalester College teammates did not allow a shot on goal by the host Augsburg College Auggies Saturday afternoon, as the Scots claimed a 3-0 win in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game at Anderson-Nelson Field.
Macalester, defending NCAA Division III national champions, improve to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC. The Scots are rated 10th nationally and second in the Central Region in the latest NSCAA Division III women's soccer polls. Augsburg falls to 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the MIAC.
Harris scored her first goal in the 11th minute on a crossing pass from the right side from Kate Ryan-Reiling (Jr., St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS). Ryan-Reiling scored off a corner kick from Kristin Covey (Sr., Seattle, Wash./Shorecrest HS) in the 59th minute, and Harris added her second goal of the game in the 72nd minute.
Macalester outshot Augsburg by a 10-0 margin.
Katie Cheese (So., Shakopee, Minn.) made six saves in goal for the Auggies.
