ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (1/29/00) -- Freshman Andy Gilbert (Fr., Robbinsdale, Minn.) returned to the Bethel College lineup to score 19 points and add a team-high seven rebounds in Bethel's 88-81 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Bethel's Robertson Center on Saturday.
Bethel improves to 7-9 overall and 5-7 in the MIAC, while Augsburg, which entered the game as co-leader in the MIAC race with St. John's and St. Thomas, drops to 11-5 overall and 10-3 in the league.
The Royals were led by sophomore wing Brett Repasky (So., Maple Grove, Minn.) with 24 points. Repasky made eight of 11 shots, including five of six from behind the arc. Senior guard Jesse Peterson (Sr., Milaca, Minn.) added 17 points for Bethel.
Augsburg had six players score in double figures, led by senior guard
Jeoffrey Reed (Sr., Minneapolis, Minn./De La Salle HS) with 15 points and four assists.
Matt Davis (Jr., Marshall, Minn.) had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and
Kevin Van Rossum (Sr., Green Bay, Wis./Preble HS) and
Nate Hoerr (Jr., Burnsville, Minn.) had 11 points apiece.
Augsburg hosts St. Mary's on Monday (1/31), while Bethel hosts Carleton. Both games are at 7:30 p.m.
