WINONA, Minn. (10/13/00) -- Diane Wood (Sr., Los Alamos, N.M.) had 10 kills and three blocks to pace conference leader St. Mary's University to a three-game sweep of Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's. Game scores were 15-5, 15-5, 15-9 in favor of the Cardinals, who improve to 21-6 overall and 8-1 in the MIAC. Augsburg drops to 6-14 overall and 3-6 in the MIAC.

Wood hit .444 (10 kills, 2 errors, 18 attempts) in the match, while Shelly Haake (Sr., Carroll, Iowa), who had eight kills and two blocks, had a team-high .467 attack percentage (8 for 15, 1 error). Amber Rajtora (Sr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson HS) had 25 assists.

Angie Rieger (Sr., Courtland, Minn./New Ulm Public HS) led all players with 13 kills and two blocks (one solo) for Augsburg, to go with 11 digs. Cassi Van Ausdall (Sr., White Bear Lake, Minn.) had 11 digs, three kills and one block, while Kevina Nakiwala (So., Kampala, Uganda/Ashby, Minn., HS) had seven kills and one block. Emily Walen (Sr., Stillwater, Minn./Hastings HS) claimed 20 assists.

Augsburg returns to MIAC action Wednesday (10/16) with a home match against defending conference champion Bethel at 7:30 p.m. at Si Melby Hall. St. Mary's hosts Carleton on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
