Women's Soccer 10/14/00 -- St. Catherine 1, Augsburg 0 (2 OT)
BLAINE, Minn. (10/14/00) -- Mindy Daugherty (So., White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored with 10 seconds remaining in the second overtime, lifting the host College of St. Catherine to a 1-0 victory over Augsburg College in a nonconference women's soccer game Saturday afternoon at the National Sports Center.
Augsburg drops to 6-8 overall, while St. Catherine improves to 13-1-1 overall. St. Catherine is an independent this season; it will join the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schedule next season.
Despite being utshot by a 28-14 margin, the Auggies kept the game scoreless until late in the second overtime, when Kate Blank (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) assisted Daugherty on the game-winner at the 119:50 mark.
Katie Cheese (Jr., Shakopee, Minn.) made 14 saves in goal for the Auggies. Jill Ament (Fr., Jamestown, N.D.) made 11 saves for the Wildcats.
Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Wednesday (10/18) at 1:30 p.m., playing at Concordia-Moorhead. St. Catherine hosts Wisconsin-Superior Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
