MINNEAPOLIS (9/30/00) -- Jenny Murray (Fr., Dubuque, Iowa/Wahlert HS) scored in the 59th minute to give the University of St. Thomas a 1-0 victory over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game Saturday at Augsburg's Anderson-Nelson Field.
St. Thomas improves to 6-1-3 overall and 3-0-1 in the MIAC. Augsburg drops to 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the MIAC, dropping its second straight shutout loss.
Gretchen Vogel (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn./Rosemount HS) assisted on Murray's goal. St. Thomas outshot Augsburg 24-3 to notch the victory.
Augsburg goalkeeper
Laura Hoffman (Fr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) made 14 saves in 57 minutes of work, but was forced to leave the game with an injury.
Katie Cheese (Jr., Shakopee, Minn.) came in for Cheese, and two minutes later, Murray scored her goal for the Tommies.
Jessica Christopherson (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) only needed to make three saves in goal to pick up the victory for the Tommies.
Augsburg hosts Carleton in an MIAC game on Tuesday (10/3) at 7 p.m. at Anderson-Nelson Field. St. Thomas hosts St. Olaf Tuesday at 4 p.m.
