Women's Soccer 9/9/00 -- Augsburg 7, Crown (Minn.) 0
ST. BONIFACIOUS, Minn. (9/9/00) --
Heidi Hilleren (Fr., Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scored two goals and added two assists to lead Augsburg College to its biggest women's soccer victory in nearly three seasons a 7-0 triumph at Crown College on Saturday afternoon.
The seven goals were the most scored by an Augsburg women's soccer squad since a 7-0 win over Luther on Oct. 19, 1997 at Anderson-Nelson Field.
The Auggies scored six of their goals in the first half and outshot the Crusaders by a 30-7 margin. Augsburg is now 1-2 on the season.
Melissa Peterka (Fr., Minnetonka, Minn.) had a goal and two assists, while
Stacy Waterman (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) had a goal and assist.
Brenda Selander * (Sr., Oakdale, Minn./Tartan HS),
Kristi Ofstad (Fr., Rapid City, S.D./Rapid City Stevens HS) and
Katie Cheese (Jr., Shakopee, Minn.) had the other Auggie goals.
Laura Hoffman (Fr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) and
Kristen Opalinski (So., Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe HS) combined for the victory in goal, making five saves.
Augsburg hosts Buena Vista University (Iowa) in a nonconference contest on Tuesday (9/12) at 5 p.m. at Anderson-Nelson Field.
