ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/10/01) -- Maria Bujold (Fr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal three minutes into overtime, lifting Hamline University to a 1-0 win over visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game Wednesday.
Bujold's goal, on an assist from Christine Walsten (So., Maplewood, Minn.), lifted Hamline to 4-6-0 overall and 2-4 in the MIAC. Augsburg broke a two-game winning streak and fell to 5-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the MIAC with the loss.
Augsburg outshot Hamline by a 22-17 margin, but could not put any shots past Piper goalkeeper Emily Robertson (Jr., Texas), who made five saves. Auggie goalkeeper
Laura Hoffman (So., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) made eight saves in a losing effort.
Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Saturday (10/13), playing at Gustavus at 3:30 p.m. Hamline returns to action on Tuesday (10/16) with a 3:30 p.m. game at St. Mary's.
