NORTHFIELD, Minn. (10/30/02) -- Carolyn Detjen scored the lone goal of the game in the 19th minute, giving St. Olaf College a 1-0 win over Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game Wednesday afternoon at St. Olaf's Rolf Melby Field.

St. Olaf improved to 9-4-3 overall and 5-2-2 in the MIAC, while Augsburg snapped a six-game unbeaten streak in falling to 11-4-2 overall and 5-4-1 in MIAC play.

Augsburg goalkeeper Laura Hoffman * (Jr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) saw her streak of not allowing a goal snapped at 581 minutes when Detjen scored on assists from Brie Messick and Erin Albers early in the first half.

St. Olaf outshot Augsburg 19-6. Kara Olson stopped six shots to pick up the win for the Oles.

Augsburg finishes its season on Friday (11/1), hosting St. Benedict at 7 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
