ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/5/02) --
Millie Suk (Fr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute, leading Augsburg College to a 1-0 win over the College of St. Catherine in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game Saturday afternoon at St. Catherine.
Augsburg improved to 6-3 overall, with all six wins coming via shutout. Augsburg is 3-3 in MIAC play. St. Catherine drops to 3-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in the MIAC.
Suk has six of Augsburg's eight goals and 13 of Augsburg's 19 total points this season.
St. Catherine outshot Augsburg by a 15-10 margin. Goalkeeper
Laura Hoffman * (Jr., Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy HS) made seven saves in the contest to record her sixth shutout of the season and 13th in her three-year career. She is in second place on the school's all-time record list for shutouts. Beth Petrik holds the school record with 26 career shutouts from 1995-98. Hoffman is now in fourth place in school history for single-season shutouts; Petrik had nine shutouts in 1997 for the school mark.
Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (10/9) at 7 p.m., hosting Wisconsin-River Falls in a nonconference game at Edor Nelson Field. St. Catherine plays Concordia-Moorhead on Monday (10/7) at 4 p.m. The game will be played at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
